Released: initial app, authentication

We’ve created Pubray from scratch with the best of what modern technology has to offer.

  • Erlang at the core of backend to achieve industry-leading scalability & cost efficiency
  • Elixir as a programming language that sky-rockets the development experience & productivity
  • Phoenix LiveView to enable a real-time server-side rendering - a bleeding edge approach towards gluing web client with the server that effectively eliminates the overhead of building APIs and thus enables an unprecedented development pace
  • React to maximize the performance of crucial client-side pieces by betting on battle-proven industry-leading technology

What this means in plain English is that we’re fusing the following winning factors:

  • high scalability & low maintenance that led WhatsApp to reach global scale with a pretty small engineering team
  • browser-server coding model that’s so productive that many industry-leading frameworks are struggling to copy it
  • bleeding edge & development experience that should literally make engineers beg to have a chance to work with this stack :)

We’re truly excited to see how this revolutionary stack will work to let us achieve our goals in months ahead. We’re confident it’ll let us build a quality initial product at unprecedented pace, and one that’ll present performance and user experience beyond what’s usually associated with an MVP.

Authentication

Thus far, within this very first update, we’ve used this foundation to assemble a working project with a secure e-mail authentication, including “remember me” feature and password reset.
